Causes and maintenance of motor stator and rotor core faults
The stator and rotor of a motor are the magnetic circuit parts of the motor, composed of mutually insulated silicon steel sheets stacked together. The main reasons for the failure of the stator and rotor iron core of the motor are summarized as follows.
1. The iron core or teeth are damaged due to grounding and ignition of the winding. In response to this situation, tools such as chisels or scrapers can be used to remove the molten deposits and apply insulation paint for drying.
2. The fixation between the iron core and the base is loose. If this situation occurs, it can be fixed again. If the positioning screw is damaged, it should be repositioned, then replaced and tightened.
3. When dismantling the old winding, excessive force may cause the slot to tilt and open outwards. The fault caused by this reason shall be repaired with tools such as Needle-nose pliers and wooden hammer head to reset the alveolar, and hard insulating materials such as green paper and glue board shall be added between the silicon steel sheets with gaps that are not easy to reset.
4. The bearings have been used for a long time, and excessive wear causes friction between the stator and rotor, causing damage to the surface of the iron core, which in turn leads to short circuits between silicon steel sheets, increasing the iron loss of the motor and causing excessive temperature rise of the motor. In such cases, tools such as a fine file should be used to remove burrs, eliminate short connections of silicon steel sheets, clean them, apply insulation paint, and heat and dry them.
5. Rust on the surface of the iron core due to moisture and other reasons. Such faults require sanding and cleaning, followed by applying insulation paint.
